GENERAL PROVISIONS

“School of the Young Writer” is a unique project that can stimulate literary processes for young people and the younger generation through familiarizing them with the literary heritage of the Ukrainian people and teaching basic literary skills.

The project was developed by the non-governmental organization “All-Ukrainian Student Fraternity “The Elite of the Nation” with the assistance of the public organization “Kharkiv Regional Youth Center “and the writer Serhiy Zhadan.

Participation in the project is free of charge.

PURPOSE AND OBJECT OF THE PROJECT

The purpose of the project is to educate the national consciousness of the youth through familiarization with the literary heritage of the Ukrainian people; the attraction of talented young people to literary processes.

Project objectives are:

• to establish patriotism, spirituality, morality and the formation of universal values;
• to form a creative personality capable of self-development, self-education and self-actualization;
• to attract as many young people as possible to active intellectual and creative activity, including meaningful leisure;
• to let the youth be aware of their belonging to the historical and cultural values, as well as and the achievements of the Ukrainian nation;
• to involve young people in literary activities.

PROJECT ORGANIZERS

The organizers of the project are the non-governmental organization “Ukrainian Student Fraternity “The Elite of the Nation”, the public institution “Kharkiv Regional Youth Center” and a famous Ukrainian poet, prose writer, translator, public activist, author of the novels “Depeche Mode”, “Voroshilovgrad”, “Mesopotamia”, poetry collections “Quotations”, “Ethiopia” Serhiy Zhadan (hereinafter referred to as “Organizers”).

The project is held under the partronage of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration.

Project partner is the public institution “Kharkiv Literary Museum”.

PARTICIPANTS OF THE PROJECT

Participants of the project are persons aged from 9 to 22. The condition is that the ones who wish to take part in the project should apply for participation, pass a competitive selection and receive a positive decision on registration as a participant from the project organizers.

According to the age peculiarities the participants, they are divided into 2 groups:

• younger group that includes persons aged from 9 to 15 years;
• senior group created for persons aged 16 to 22 years.

PROJECT PROGRAM

The project is developed by the public institution of culture “Kharkiv Literary Museum”, in consultation with the non-governmental organization “Ukrainian Student Fraternity “The Elite of the Nation” and the public institution “Kharkiv Regional Youth Center” (Annex 1).

The project program is developed and agreed separately for each project season.

PRESENTATION OF THE COLLECTION OF POEMS

The presentation of the collection of poems takes place in a solemn atmosphere, all according to the scenario.

The scenario of the presentation is developed by the non-governmental organization “Ukrainian Student Fraternity “The Elite of the Nation” and the public institution “Kharkiv Regional Youth Center”.

The presentation of the collection of poems includes the ceremonial award of certificates to the participants.

FINAL PROVISIONS

The organizers are entitled to conduct photo and video recording, audio recordings at project events, and transfer this right to the persons authorized (accredited). Organizers have the right to use these materials for non-commercial purposes and for the purpose of promoting the project. Commercial use of audio and video materials is allowed with the written permission of the author or the copyright holder.

Organizers are entitled to make operational changes in this Regulation and the Annex thereto with obligatory reporting of project participants.

The organizers have the right to change the dates, terms, time and venues of the project activities, as well as make adjustments to the project program with the obligatory informing of the participants.

All controversial issues and conflict situations arising during the project activities are solved by the Project organizers in accordance with the Ukrainian legislation.
